Dagens Media compares Swedish media brands in online discussions

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Dagens Media, a major marketing newspaper of Sweden, published an article of how different medias are visibile and perceived in Swedish online discussions. Whitevector provided the data for the comparison. Both visibility and distribution of positive and negative discussions were analysed to see how the compared medias are present in online discussions.

Discussion around Dagens Industri was the most negative whereas Aftonbladet and SVT gathered most visibility in social media. When analysing brands online, it is also relevant to drill down to the actual discussions to do a bit of qualitative research in order to gain more insight to the numbers.

A next step would be to pull reasons “Why?” for sentiment and visibility differences. For the media brands it is central to gain visitors to their websites and one of the keys to do it successfully might lie in answering to that question.
